Tour Itinerary Take a little break during your stay in Rome, enter a real Italian home in a fabulous mansion, relax, drink some typical wines and learn more about Italian wines along the way. The standard wine tasting "My Italians" will give wine lovers of any level an overview of Italian wines. The tasting takes around 2 hours and will provide you with valuable information about typical wines (varietals and styles) from different regions of Italy, whites as well as reds. This tasting does not cover all wine regions of Italy and not necessarily the most prestigious wines. Instead you will get a good understanding of the main differences from north to south and how these wines compare and contrast to international wines you might know. The tasting contents are not set in stone; they will evolve around your interests and questions (which are strongly encouraged!). Common topics often covered (but depending on your prior knowledge and experiences) are • Wine in Italian culture, esp. its relevance with food • Overview of different wine styles and philosophy in nowadays Italy • Understanding Italian wine labels • How to taste wine: visual, olfactory and gustatory elements • White wines from the North and South, the Islands. How these differ among each other and how to compare them with international styles • Red wines from the North and South, the Islands. How these differ among each other and how to compare them with international styles • Spumante and Dessert-wines upon request • Understanding aromas, body and structure • Understanding acidity and tannins • Understanding wine and food pairing, on the basis of above aspects • Defining your own taste of wine! • Acquisition of essential understanding and tools to find the correct wines for you! • Possibility to buy the wines you tasted What is included • 7 select Italian wines • Presentation (as above) in English by native speaker sommelier • Bread basket (the best bread in town!) • Water • The list of the wines you taste, with information about varital, region, etc. We have an AC!
